FAQ: What kind of quality systems are medical device packaging suppliers typically required to employ?

&A: Packaging suppliers are not required to adhere to any specific system.

A select few choose to obtain ISO registration; those that achieve ISO registration can offer very robust quality systems, oftentimes on a par with medical device quality standards.

While many suppliers will claim that their quality systems are ISO or FDA "compliant," there is no substitute for registration, ongoing monitoring, and a foundational commitment to the quality system.
